Juan Rubio

Family Support Coach

As a Family Coach for PCC, Juan helps parents to develop the skills necessary for their children to be successful in their lives.

Since earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, he has spent 5 years working with high-risk school kids, 4 years working with mental health challenges, including homeless, and 5 years working with CPS.

He enjoys working with these families because there is always the opportunity to help them achieve their life goals, and to collaborate with the emotional and mental development of these children who have been neglected by their biological parents. He helps them adapt to life, collaborating together with the parents to achieve their goals.

Juan’s approach to coaching involves always seeing the child as a child and seeing them without labels. He likes to work from scratch, getting to know them, treating them without prejudice, and always sees that they are often children who need to be listened to, loved, and respected.

He looks beyond the problems to see the child that may think they are different than others and who doesn't fit in our society, but knows the only thing they need is a little compassion, care, and love.

When asked about what he hopes families can gain from working with him, Juan said, “There is always hope that the lives of children and their families can improve, sometimes second chances are necessary, or third chances. Never give up.”
